Charles Brandel "Buddy" Ainsworth, 90, of El Dorado, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at the South Arkansas Regional Hospital. He was born on April 18, 1934 to William Grady Ainsworth Sr. and Lucille Christie Ainsworth.
He attended Wesson Elementary School and graduated from Junction City High School. He attended Ouachita Baptist University and Southern State University. He served as a Southern Baptist minister in Arkansas and Louisiana. He started preaching when he was 16 years old and became pastor of his first church at the age of 17. He also worked for First National Bank, where he was President of the Real Estate Department. Charles was a member of Wesson Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with his family.
Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers, W.G. "Bill" Ainsworth, Jr., Harold Dean Ainsworth; and grandson, William Tyler Ainsworth.
Survivors include his wife, Judie Ainsworth of El Dorado; daughters, Elizabeth Cunningham (Jim) of Huffman, TX, and Amie Powell of El Dorado; grandchildren, Angela Walker (Zack) of Porter, TX, John Powell of El Dorado, AR, Aaron Cunningham of Denver, CO, and Kati Cunningham of Huffman, TX; great grandchildren, Rylan and Brayden Walker of Porter, TX; sister-in-law, Betty Ann Ainsworth of Sunnyvale, TX; and numerous, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Young's Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday in Young's Chapel with Bro. Gary Hill and Bro. Richard Donahue officiating. Burial will follow at Wesson Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
Memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Ministry Center, Liberty Baptist Associate Benevolence Fund, or Hudson Memorial Nursing Home.
