Doris Phillips King, 75, of El Dorado passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Christus Highland Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. Born July 18, 1949 in El Dorado she was the daughter of Prather "Pete" Joseph and Margie Lee Bryant Phillips.
Mrs. King was a longtime employee of ConAgra and later Pilgrim's Pride in the accounting department before retiring after 30 years in 2005. She was a former member of Southside Baptist Church and later attended El Dorado Missionary Baptist Church.
Doris was known for her kindness, compassion for others and overall sweet and giving nature.
Preceding her in death along with her parents were her husband of over 40 years Gene Raymond King, infant sister, Carol Phillips and special cousin/brother, Neal Greer.
Survivors include her daughter, Gina Smith (Kris) of El Dorado; brother, Keith Phillips (Carol) of Greenwood, LA; three grandsons, Joseph Chase King, Kyle Smith and Kameron Smith all of El Dorado; two nieces, Katie Phillips of Greenwood, LA, and Caroline Phillips of Shreveport, LA; two special great-nephews; special cousins/brothers, Lance Greer (Sondra) of El Dorado, and Nolan Greer of Baytown, Texas. Also surviving are special friends, Cheryl Thurlkill, Sharon Davidson and Myrna Leuck along with many other friends and family members.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 23, 2025 in Young's Chapel with Rev. Bill Odom officiating. Interment will follow in Canaan Cemetery, Lockhart, LA. under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Duggar, Lance Allen Greer, Kyle Smith, Kameron Smith, Justin Collins, and Vance Williamson.
