Edith Foster Gardener Glover

Edith Foster Gardener Glover, 105, received her eternal reward on January 1, 2025. She was born February 27, 1919 in Pine Bluff, AR to John Walter Gardner and Pauline Foster Gardener.

She married Glen R Glover, and in 1947 they moved to El Dorado, AR where they raised their three children.

Mrs. Glover was a tireless volunteer at the two El Dorado churches she was a member of. First at Immanuel Baptist Church, and then for over 60 years at East Main Baptist Church. She spent decades as a Sunday School teacher for many age groups, church librarian, and choir member. She was also a VBS director and WMU leader. She sewed costumes and folded hundreds of boxes for OCC. Mrs. Glover showed true Christian spirit in her love and service to others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, only brother JW Gardener, Jr, only sister Frances Virginia Hawkins, daughter Charlotte Nixon, son Terry Glover, grandson Marc Glover, daughters in law Mona Glover and Sandy Glover.

Those left to cherish her memory include: Son Larry Glover of Arlington, TX, son in law Steve Nixon, grandchildren Manda Jones (Jayson), Corey Nixon (Heather), Jimmie Glover, Jamie Glover (Jared), Jackie Glover, Tim Glover (Stephanie), and Rachel Underhill (Jeremy). Nieces Judi Kjeldgaard (John), Ginger Chambers, and Krystal Kjeldgaard. Great grandchildren Hannah Nixon, Andrew Nixon, Zander Jones, Lex Jones, Avery Dreher, Hazel Dreher, and Axel Dreher.

The family would like to extend appreciation to Mrs. Glover's direct care team at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home.

Celebration of life will be January 11, 2025 at 11 am at East Main Baptist Church.  Visitation will take place at 10 am at the church.

Memorials may be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital or East Main Baptist Church.
