Edith Y. "Bonnie" Long, 85, of Norphlet, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025. As many would testify, she was anxious to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Heaven was a favorite topic of conversation. She was born on May 22, 1939 to C.B. and Nawassa Taunton Brown in Huttig, AR.
She was a member of Norphlet First Baptist Church and loved her Sunday school class. She had a heart that was generous and full of love for her family. Nana loved to cut up with her great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Pat Long; brothers, Ramsey Brown, Larry Brown; son, George Long; infant daughter, Lori Ann Long.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Carter (Scott); brother, Dwayne Brown (Betty Lou); sister-in-law, Rita Wiemann; grandchildren, Seth Carter (Heather); Jake Carter (Samantha), Sarah Liz Mitchell (Austin); and great grandchildren, Will Carter, Luke Carter, Selah Carter, Jett Carter, Savannah Mitchell, Micah Mitchell, and Jesse Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. March 24, 2025 at Norphlet First Baptist Church with Bro. Doug Wills officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
Serving as pallbearers will be Seth Carter, Jake Carter, Austin Mitchell, Mark Martin, Neil Walker, David Long and Paul Long.
