Gary Lamar Wilkerson, 68, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, March 21, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 12, 1956, to Lamar and Fern Wilkerson in Glendale, AZ. He graduated from Magnolia Heights Academy in Senatobia, MS, where he was recently inducted into their athletic hall of fame. He served as the manager of Environmental Services at several hospitals including Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Magnolia, AR.
Gary was a very outgoing individual who never met a stranger. He always had a smile on his face and joke to make you laugh. Most everyone who met him can attest to his love for the Lord as he often shared his faith in Jesus. One of his greatest passions was serving his local church through his gift of music, often leading worship while playing his guitar and singing.
Gary is survived by his wife, Linda Burns Wilkerson; daughter Sarah Bauldree (Pate); brother Jack Wilkerson (Sylvia); brother Robert Wilkerson (Mary); sister Eva Lenzi; nephews Jamie Hacker (Leigh), Brian Wilkerson (Kandi), Wesley Wilkerson (Dania), Brandon Lenzi (Mallory); and several great nieces and nephews.
A visitation and memorial service will be held at Young’s Funeral Home in El Dorado, AR, on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 prior to the service.
