James “Jim” Arlin Waterston, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after an extended illness. He passed away in Hot Springs, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Born July 17, 1933 in El Dorado, he was the son of Benjamin Louis and Margaret Estelle Gilmore Waterston. Jim had been a longtime resident of El Dorado and Felsenthal, Arkansas.
Preceding him in death along with his parents were his first wife, Clarice Rose Hinds Waterston and his second wife, Mable Clarinda Laney Waterston.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Terrie Jan Waterston Mills and her husband John Everett Mills of Springhill, AR; daughter, Debra Lynn Waterston Floyd and her husband David Clayton Floyd of El Dorado; two grandchildren, Amanda Eve Lancaster Sedighi and Dennis Wayne Hicks; two great-grandsons, Trevor Alan Scott and Brandon Tyler Scott; one sister, Bennie Jan Waterston Cason of Brentwood, TN; along with a host of extended family and many friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Young's Funeral Directors.
Private graveside service will be held at a later date under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice in Jim’s honor.
