Kevin "Cowboy" Wilson

In Loving Memory of Kevin “Cowboy” Monroe Wilson September 19, 1950- September 1, 2024.

Kevin “Cowboy” Wilson (1950-2024) was a kind, hardworking, and dedicated individual who always put the needs of others above his own. Born in Gatesville, TX, Kevin moved his way around Texas working at many different jobs including as a livestock inspector, working in the oil fields, being a hunting guide for the American Sportsman Club, electrical work at a steel mill, retail sales hardware stores, and lumber yards. Although he often initially seemed gruff, his true nature was uncompromising kindness, selflessness, and thoughtfulness to those he cared about.

Many know Kevin through his years working at Ken’s Discount in El Dorado. If anyone needed help with electrical services, Kevin was the guy. His knowledge of this came from his years working in electrical construction and maintenance in residential remodeling. Kevin was a genuinely knowledgeable individual which gave him the confidence to continue to work with the public until his later years. He loved to spend time with his friends eating venison pizza and pumpkin pie. He was a uniquely special individual.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents William W. Wilson and Nella Colvin Wilson, and a brother Kenneth Wilson.

He is survived in death by a brother, Mark Wilson, his wife Susan, their daughter Kimberly Nikole Wilson, niece Zhanna Holmes, and several cousins. He is also survived in death by a plethora of friends who loved him and miss him dearly and to whom he was as close as family.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Young's Funeral Directors.
