Marvis Thelan Wood, 93, of El Dorado, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Courtyard Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on November 13, 1930 to Benjamin Franklin and Essiebelle Horton Wood in El Dorado, AR.
He worked as a master electrician with the IBEW, before his retirement. Marvis was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church Legacy Bible Class and the Masonic Lodge El Dorado #15 and a 1949 graduate of Junction City High School.
Preceding him in death are his parents; infant son, Benjy Thelan Wood; sister, Bula Wood Williams; and brother, Kennie Ray Wood.
Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years Nancy Webb Wood; daughter, Leah Shryock; son, Mark Timothy Wood, Sr. (Jody) all of El Dorado; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren
A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Arlington Memorial Park. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Young's Funeral Directors.
