Nello "Nell" Dean Thomason passed away Monday, March 24, 2025 in Hot Springs, Arkansas at the age of 95. She was born in Calhoun County, Arkansas on March 1, 1930 to George C. Reddin and Maude Ellis Reddin. Nell epitomized “the Greatest Generation.” She worked hard, loved her family, and placed her unwavering faith in God. She worked for Prescolite Corporation in El Dorado, Arkansas for 27 years, primarily to save enough money to send three children to college. She was married to Clifton Thomason on October 22, 1948. She and Cliff were married for 61 years until his passing in 2010.
Nell was a member of Immanuel Baptist church in El Dorado, Arkansas. She and Cliff joined Immanuel in 1954. Nell was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and also taught Sunday School for many years. Cliff always had a big garden, and Nell took great pride in “putting up” fresh garden vegetables. After Nell retired, she and Cliff enjoyed travel experiences to Alaska, Hawaii, and the Grand Canyon, and always relished family reunions.
Preceding her in death are her parents and brothers, Abner and Franklin Reddin, and sisters Clara Omary and Cleo Shell. She is survived by her daughter Angela Woods (Jack) of Jacksonville, Texas; a son Terry Thomason (Regina) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and daughter Paige Gordon (Wendell) of Bulverde, Texas; four granddaughters, Amanda Murphy, Sarah Hudson, Willa Thomason, and Hayley Seal; six great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held under the direction of Young’s Funeral home in El Dorado, Arkansas Monday, March 31, 2025. Visitation will be at 1pm followed by the Celebration of Life service at 2 pm, and burial at Means Cemetery in Calhoun County, Arkansas.
