Robin Johnson Carroll, 54, of El Dorado, Arkansas, passed away on March 2, 2025. He was a loving father and friend, unwavering steward of the law, proud member of the democratic party, and a strong advocate for advancements in his community. He will be deeply missed by many.
Robin graduated from El Dorado High School in 1989, then went on to attend Henderson State University, where he was an All-American scholar athlete in golf. He then attended Bowen School of Law in Little Rock, graduating in 1995.
He returned to El Dorado once completing law school, and practiced private law until his victory in the Prosecuting Attorney race for the Arkansas 13th judicial district in 2006. In 2012, Robin decided to run for the state circuit judgeship for the 13th judicial district. He was also victorious in this race, and served on the bench until his resignation in 2022, when he then returned to private practice.
Robin was a lifelong golfer. He played in countless junior golf tournaments all across the country before playing for his beloved Henderson Reddies from 1989-1993. He earned All-AIC honors in 1991 and 1992, and NAIA All-District honors in 1991,1992, and 1993. Along with being named for the Henderson Young Alumni Achievement Award in 2007, he was later inducted into the Henderson Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.
If Robin was not working on his caseload, helping out with political campaigns, or striving for new advancements in El Dorado and Union County, he could typically be found at the El Dorado Country Club playing golf or on the road to one of many golf tournaments for his son, Pete.
He is survived by his two children, Pete (Holland) and Jessica, sister Tammy Carroll Miller (Phil), bonus mother Earlene Watts, uncle Joe Copeland (Beverly), nephew Austin Carroll (Natalie), niece Morgan Grice (Dakota), beloved German shorthair Ben, and black cat Osage.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Pete and Suzanne Carroll, brother Jeff, and many aunts and uncles on the Carroll and Copeland sides.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt thanks to the staff at Lifetouch Hospice in El Dorado for their amazing care over the last month.
His service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 7, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church in El Dorado. There will be no visitation or reception at this time.
Memorials may be made to the church, or the UAMS Peter J. Carroll Scholarship Fund.
