Roney Elder Graves, 84, of El Dorado, AR passed away Monday, September 16, 2024 at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home.

He was born August 10, 1940 in Lawson, AR to Charlie Elder Graves and Annie Ethel Webb Graves. Roney was a hard-working man that loved the simple things in life. His favorite thing to do was work with the mules and horses. He owned over 500 in his lifetime. He also loved to coon hunt and he trained some of the best blue tick hounds in this part of the country. He was also a man of few words but you always knew where you stood with him. He said what he meant and meant what he said. He never sugarcoated anything. Roney will be dearly missed by many, many friends and family.

Preceding him in death are his parents, one son, Timothy Alan Graves; two brothers, Millard Graves and Doyne Graves.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Jo Ann DeFee Graves; one son, Todd Graves of El Dorado, one daughter, Tracye Baker (Clint) of El Dorado: two sisters, Rosemary Escobar and Ann Barbaree; grandchildren, David Graves, Leslie Graves (Dylan) Justin Graves (Brooklyn), Keith Graves, Kelsi Graves, Levi Baker & Annsley Baker; great-grandchildren, Kinley Hibbs, Cooper Amedee, Colt Graves and Lennon Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday September 19, 2024 at Young’s Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday night at Young’s Funeral Directors.
