EL DORADO, Ark. (KNOE) - The Arkansas Crime Laboratory is looking into the cause of death of 24-year-old Dayshawn Smith of El Dorado. The laboratory is also taking a close look at some evidence found close to Smith’s body.
El Dorado police say Smith’s body was found just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, in front of a home near the corner of West Cook Street and Murphy Avenue.
Police say Smith appeared to have been shot at least once.
Investigators believe the shooting may have happened in the street in front of the home, and Smith may have run into the front yard of the residence and collapsed.
Officials are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the El Dorado Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
